Now that the Kia Sorento is nearing its third year in production, the Korean automaker is bound to unveil a mid-life refresh. This is backed by the series of spy shots of the assumed Sorento facelift, wrapped in camouflage so we can’t be certain of the exact changes.

To give us a glimpse of what we can expect, Nikita Chiuko released unofficial renders of the 2024 Kia Sorento based on the leaked spy shots. The 7-seater midsize crossover appears to receive a more modern-looking version of the current fourth-generation iteration.
Starting with the most obvious change, the headlight housing design. The redesigned version is now in horizontal orientation, while the daytime running lights (DRLs) retain the L-shape position higher. Integrated between the headlights is the revamped tiger-nose grille with more subtle louvers.

The rear end is still similar to the current model, keeping the distinctive LED taillights. But looking at the render, the crossover has now adopted a rear light bar, connecting all four taillight slats. This is a feature that is mostly fitted into modern cars. In addition, the placements of the Kia logos and Sorento badges appear to be untouched.
No engine details have been made known just yet. However, the facelifted model of the Kia Sorento is expected to retain the current gasoline, diesel, and hybrid powertrain options. Locally, the vehicle is available only with a 2.2-liter Smartstream diesel engine with 199 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed Smartstream dual-clutch transmission (DCT) as standard.

It could take a while before Kia unwraps the Sorento facelift as the launch could be held in the second half of 2023 as the 2024 model. The new model is also expected to carry a more expensive price tag compared to the outgoing model, which is usually the case.

The Kia Sorento 2023 is the midsize crossover entry of the Korean automaker. Currently, Kia Philippines is offering the fourth-generation version of the nameplate which was introduced in 2020. Dimensions-wise, the Sorento has a length of 4,810 mm, a width of 1,900 mm, and a height of 1,700 mm. Additionally, it has a wheelbase and ground clearance rated at 2,815 mm and 176 mm, respectively. Locally, this Korean midsize crossover competes against the likes of the Ford Explorer, Subaru Evoltis, and Mazda CX-9.
