The XRT is no stranger to the Korean automaker’s lineup. Made available in models like the Palisade and Santa Cruz in other markets, the XRT badge brings off-road-oriented enhancements, and the Santa Fe could be the next in line.

“The XRT Concept is designed to handle challenging terrains with confidence and ease, offering versatile utility for outdoor lifestyles,” said Hyundai in a press release.

Hyundai did not specify the details of what was added to the concept vehicle. However, it is clear that it uses beefy all-terrain tires wrapped around a new set of wheels featuring fewer spokes. It is also sporting a front skid plate for added protection when off-roading.

Up for an adventure

The concept also looks to aid those who seek adventure. Storage boxes are mounted on the rear windows reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender, while the rear end has a ladder that gives access to the large roof rack. These additions can help passengers bring more equipment on the go hassle-free.

No interior shots were released. Although, like the standard model, we can expect the second-row and third-row seats to be fully foldable for more cargo space.

As a concept, there are still plenty of details up in the air including the powertrain. In homeland Korea, the Santa Fe is available with two engine options – a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid and a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. The hybrid makes 178 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque, while the other can generate 277 horsepower and 422 Nm of torque.
