History
The Maserati was first created as a race car, but later on in 1957 because of the Guidizzolo tragedy, Maserati concentrated more on creating grand-tourers or cars created for long-distance travel. The model is still created with speed and strength.
Development
The Maserati was first owned by FIAT Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). It was at first associated with Ferrari. Due to the product launches and persistent plans, the brand created a record of selling more than 3,000 units in just a month. With this, the Ghibli and Quattroporte models have increased in production.
The Maserati comes in five models: the Ghibli, Quattroporte, Gran Turismo, Grand Cabrio, and the Levante. All four body types fall under the sedan while the Levante is an SUV/Crossover.
Local presence
The Maserati has reached the Philippine market through Autostrada Motore Inc. which is owned by Wellington Soong. The Autostrada Motore is the exclusive distributor of the Ferrari and Maserati in the Philippines. It was inaugurated last March 2012 at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. You can find the Maserati in the Philippines from three authorized dealers
Maserati is considering extending its reach to electrification. Going back to its roots, Maserati launched the MC20 under the super sports car.
