The new Mazda 2 is one of the subcompact sedans in the Philippines that come with a distinct exterior design. It follows the brand’s revamped Kodo design language, similar to other vehicles in Mazda’s lineup. The Mazda 2 is fitted with a prominent grille flanked by glaring LED headlights as well as LED daytime running lamps. It also has smooth character lines as well as a sloping roofline, which gives the Mazda 2 Sedan a seamless lok. The rear is decked with narrow taillights that accentuate the vehicle’s shape. The subcompact sedan rides on 16-inch gray metallic alloy wheels.

The interior of the Mazda 2 features a neutral palette decked in black with brown accents. The seats of this subcompact sedan are wrapped in fabric. The driver’s seat is equipped with 6-way manual adjustability while the front passenger’s seat comes with 4-way manual adjustability.  

Touches of leather can be seen through the shift knob and the steering wheel that slightly elevates the interior design of the Mazda 2. On the dashboard is a hands-free system for infotainment and smartphone mirroring.

The Mazda 2 comes with an array of technology and safety features. For starters, it is furnished with a 7-inch MZD Connect infotainment system that is capable of connectivity through Bluetooth and USB. It also has smartphone mirroring capabilities that make it easier for the driver to use the system for navigation or taking calls. The audio comes out of a 6-Speaker system.

In terms of safety, Mazda equipped this subcompact sedan with rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, Anti-Locking Braking (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) as standard. For added convenience and security, the Mazda 2 comes with a smart keyless entry system matched with a push start button.

The Mazda 2 comes with a McPherson Strut front suspension setup while the rear gets a torsion beam axle. The subcompact sedan’s stopping power comes from ventilated discs in front and solid discs at the rear.

Under the hood of the Mazda 2 is a 1.5L SkyActiv-G 16-valve gasoline engine mated to a 6-Speed Automatic with Sport Mode. The said engine delivers 109 hp and 141 Nm of torque. It comes with a front-wheel-drive layout.
