Mitsubishi Adventure Philippines Overview

The Mitsubishi Adventure is a compact multi-purpose vehicle specifically offered and designed for Asian consumers. It features a durable two-toned exterior detailed with a semi-elongated fascia and a subtly-designed rear. Inside, it offers a comfortable and spacious cabin fitted with a generous number of driving and passenger amenities. Whether you’re driving in the smooth streets of the city or cruising challenging rural roads, expect reliable performance from this well-received and versatile people carrier. In the Philippines, the Mitsubishi Adventure is offered in the following variants: the Mitsubishi Adventure GX, the Mitsubishi Adventure GLX, the Mitsubishi Adventure GLS Sport, and the Mitsubishi Adventure Super Sport. It is available in Black, White, and Orange. The Mitsubishi Xpander serves as the current spiritual successor of the Adventure AUV, picking up from its popularity while offering a more modern cabin and feature-set.


The Mitsubishi Adventure was introduced on September 11, 1997. In other parts of Asia, this well-received MPV was known as the Mitsubishi Freeca in China, the Mitsubishi Kuda in Indonesia, and the Mitsubishi Jolie in Vietnam. Later on, it was made available in the South African market as the Africar Landio and the Africar Jockey.  

The production of the Mitsubishi Adventure happened in the Japanese carmaker’s automobile plant in the Philippines. During its active years, the compact multi-purpose vehicle received several facelifts in 2001, 2004, and 2009. Its last exterior upgrade happened in 2017.


The Mitsubishi Adventure measures 4,375mm long, 1,690mm wide, and 1,830mm tall with a 2,620mm wheelbase. Highlights include the iconic radiator grille designed with a pair of chrome sheets and perforated mesh, a pair of smoked halogen headlamps and circular turn indicators, a pair of sturdy roof rails, a grey bumper, fog lamps, a broad air intake, grey fenders, side moldings, black pillars, a pair tail light cluster housed on the vehicle’s D-shaped pillar, a hinged rear door, a spare tire, and a grey colored rear bumper with reflectors. Supporting the Mitsubishi Adventure is a set 14-inch alloy or 14-inch steel wheels depending on the variant.


Depending on the variant, the Mitsubishi Adventure offers a spacious cabin for a maximum of ten fully grown adults. Notable features include the foldable and reclinable fabric-covered seats, dual-tone upholstery, aluminum highlights, green-laminated windshield, efficient cabin lights, a four-spoke leather-covered steering wheel with audio control switches, height-adjustable driver seat, and third-row split-folding seats.

Technology & Safety Features

The top variant of the Mitsubishi Adventure is fitted with a 6.2-inch LCD monitor, a 2-DIN audio system, a DVD player, and an AM/FM radio. The infotainment system can be connected through AUX, USB, and Bluetooth.

In terms of safety, the Mitsubishi Adventure is built with a good number of airbags, three-point seatbelts, keyless entry, childproof locks, and parking sensors.

Platform & Chassis

The Mitsubishi Adventure was built using a hard body structure with crumple zones and impact protection beams. It is fitted with a double-wishbone suspension with coil spring at the front and a rear semi-elliptic suspension with leaf spring. Its braking power is assisted by 13-inch ventilated discs at the front and 10-inch trailing and leading drums at the rear.

Engine & Drivetrain

The Mitsubishi Adventure is powered by a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine mated with a five-speed manual transmission. It is capable of producing 75 horsepower with 149 Newton meters of torque.
