Mitsubishi Motors unveiled the Triton Snow Shredder concept at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon. As hinted at by its name, it is a Triton that was modified to be a hard-core off-road rig that’s ready to go out on a romp in the snow.
Mitsubishi Triton Snow Shredder concept
We don’t have snow here in the Philippines, but those who are planning to buy the upcoming next-gen Triton might get some inspiration from this rig that was built by Mitsubishi itself. It not only showcases how the Triton can be a fun rig in the snow but also how moddable it is.
Do you think this build can also fit all-terrain tires?
It gets the usual off-road parts like a winch-compatible front steel bumper, steel side steps, a steel rear bumper with a spare wheel, a roof rack with LED lamps, and a chunky-looking bed canopy that looks like it can store any off-road tool imaginable.
The body of the truck itself also features a cool two-tone wrap that makes its lower portions appear that it was frosted over. Its style is then enhanced by a set of off-road wheels which are wrapped around in Toyo Observe W/TR LT285/70R17 snow tires. It also sports a snorkel, a trailer hitch, and underbody protection.

For its engine, the official Tokyo Auto Salon page for the concept indicates that its 2.4-liter turbodiesel mill makes 201 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque, which is the same as the stock upcoming 2024 Triton Athlete. That said, it didn’t appear to get an alternate tune or any performance mods.
As per Mitsubishi’s official parts list for the Snow Shredder, it looks like only a fraction of these parts are available for sale in Japan. The larger bits like the steel bumpers, the rack, and the canopy come from aftermarket companies or are “reference parts” as far as the translation of the parts list goes.
It's a great-looking off-road build that's for sure.
