Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially dropped a total of three variants off the Vios variant lineup.
The Toyota Vios E
If one checks the Vios section on the official TMP site one will no longer find the Vios 1.3 Base MT, Vios 1.3 E MT, and Vios E CVT. With those being dropped, the popular sedan now has 7 available variants for the local market.
With the 1.3 Base out of the way, the Vios J MT steps up to the plate as the nameplate’s most affordable variant. The mid-spec spot which was vacated by the E variants meanwhile, is now occupied by the XLE 1.3 MT and the XLE 1.3 CVT.
Along with the XLE and XE, the remaining Vios trims include the J, G, and GR-S.
For your convenience, here are the prices of all available Toyota Vios variants as of this writing:
Toyota Vios Variant |
Price |
Vios J 1.3 MT |
Php 732,000 |
Vios XE 1.3 CVT |
Php 774,000 |
Vios XLE 1.3 MT |
Php 862,000 |
Vios XLE 1.3 CVT |
Php 902,000 |
Vios G 1.5 MT |

Vios G 1.5 CVT |
Php 1,039,000 |
Vios GR-S 1.5 CVT |
Php 1,055,000 |
Of note, the discontinuation of the E variants can be seen as a huge turning point for the nameplate. For those who are not aware, the E trim has been around since 2003 - the year when the first-gen Vios was introduced to the Philippine market.
In essence, the said variant was pretty much a huge component of the Vios' identity. It was also the variant to get for those wanting more features compared to the J and Base but didn’t want to fork over more money for the G variants. This is especially true prior to the release of the XLE trims in 2019.
