In 1932, an engineer named Chikuhei Nakajima and a Japanese naval officer established the Nakajima Aircraft Company. The company gradually contributed to the aviation evolution of Japan, and over 16 years, it successfully developed into a credible aircraft manufacturer.
After World War Two, the company changed its name to Fuji Sangyo Co. and created scooters from spares and usable parts from old aircraft. In the 1950s, Fuji Sangyo broke down into 12 small corporations specializing in machine engineering. Five of them consolidated to become a new company - the Fuji Heavy Industries, specializing in automobile manufacturing. The first invention was code-named “P1”, also known as the Subaru 1500.
With the 4WD technology and excellent engine development, Subaru has grown to become one of the most influential automakers of Japan. The two greatest inventions of the brand include the Subaru 100 and the Subaru Leone, which created remarkable success and raised the brand value for the company.
In the 1990s, Subaru entered the Philippines automobile industry under the control of the Columbian Motor Philippines. However, Subaru PH withdrew from the market in 2000 and came back in 2006 under the Motor Image Pilipinas Inc. Up to now, the company has offered numerous impressive Subaru cars to the market, including the Impreza, Forester, XV, Outback, BRZ, Levorg, WRX/WRX STI, and the Legacy.
